NODE – Forum For Digital Arts, TADAEX – Teheran Annual Digital Arts Exhibition and Goethe Institute invite Iranian and germany-based media artists to apply for artistic residencies in Frankfurt, Germany and Tehran, Iran.

Goal of the TADAEX/NODE Residency Program is to establish an exchange between the media arts scenes in Iran and Germany, and to connect the communities that have emerged around each festival. One german artist will be invited to Iran (2014) and one iranian artist to Germany (2015). Both residency periods will last 2 weeks and lead into the respective festival. The artists will be invited to both festivals, and are encouraged to collaborate.

2014 – Residency at TADAEX Teheran

Call for 1 media artist living and working in germany.
Residency: 26.9. – 9.10. 2014 / TADAEX festival: 10.10. – 22.10. 2014
Submission Deadline: 22.8.2014

For 2 weeks, you will live and work at kooshk Residency Space in Teheran, Iran, and be part of the TADAEX media art festival. You will meet your iranian exchange partner at the festival or in advance, and you’ll have the opportunity to show the resulting work within a presentation. Travel, accommodation and a (small) artist´s fee will be provided.
You don´t have to be a german citizen to apply.

2015 – Residency at NODE Frankfurt

Call for 1 iranian media artist.
Residency: 12.4. – 26.4. / NODE festival: 27.4. – 3.5. 2015
Submission Deadline: 22.8.2014

For 2 weeks, you will live and work at the production and exhibition platform basis e.v. in Frankfurt a.M., Germany and be part of the NODE – Forum for Digital Arts. You will meet your German exchange partner at the festival or in advance, and you’ll have the opportunity to show your resulting work within a presentation. Travel, accommodation and a (small) artist´s fee will be provided.

Your profile

We´re looking for young artists using/abusing digital tools in interesting ways. There are no restriction in terms of media (video, audio, performance, software, …). You should be familiar with the festival in your home country (NODE / TADAEX) and its respective profile/themes. Successful applicants must be present at both festivals.

Application

Both the application for TADAEX 2014 and NODE 2015 must be submitted until 22.8.2014. Scroll down for the application form.

Your application must include:
– Your vision for the residency and collaboration with your exchange partner, short project proposal (1500 Characters max)
– Portfolio (as PDF, 1–3 works, 6 pages max). If you are a working with sound or video, please include screenshots, Description and a link to each work in the pdf).

TADAEX – Teheran Annual Digital Arts Exhibition

Tehran Annual Digital Art Exhibition (TADAEX) was founded in december 2011 to open a new window toward digital art in Iran and to create a serious and independent atmosphere for the enthusiasts and researchers of this field.

NODE – Forum for Digital Arts

Emerged from the initiative of users and developers of the graphical software tookit vvvv, the biannual festival NODE – Forum for Digital Arts gathers creative coders, digital artists and creatives of the digital media scene since 2008.
NODE aims to foster a critical reflection within scene and supporting the creation of an innovative and responsible movement by encouraging new collaboration, interdisciplinary interchange and open knowledge sharing. Main pillar of the Forum is to empower individuals by encouraging them to experiment, prototype and bring them in the position to develop new things, to ask new questions and to provide answers.
